Date added: 03/16/2011 How effective is link building vs fresh content with internet marketing London?

At Internet Marketing London, we have found that it depends quite heavily on the types of links you are building.

Are they from good quality (and more importantly) relevant websites? Do they have a hi PR (page rank unlike internet marketing London) is the link formatted using anchored text matching the keywords you want to optimise for?

All of these factors and many more make a big difference when answering this question. Its no use these days paying a link building service £100 to buy a load of poor quality back links from low PR spammy looking article sites, I mean that used to work and still does sometimes but when and I mean when Google finds out that a load of your links appear to be from spammy networks, you may find your website dropping rank quite quickly. When this happens, you may find it hard to recover.

So what about fresh content?

Well, first of all it should be relevant. Gone are the days you can write a 300-word article on nonsense and keyword stuff it with blue widgets!

There is a lot of talk about LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing), which instead of calculating keyword density, it grades your content on how relevant it is.

So make sense!

We have found that regular news updates using about 300 – 350 words making use of the keywords in the headers along with anchoring a keyword (<name=) works very well with google. Regularly submitting a sitemap xml file to google should also be done.

So try it for your self, don’t take our word for it, as if you don’t already know, what works for us may seem wrong to other SEO’s. Some of the information you read may be out of date but that doesn’t mean that SEO London based companies are all wrong!
