How can Iframes effect SEO efforts? Most people’s opinion is that if you have an iframe displaying content then the SEO will only benefit the page the iframe is pointing to, in which case is on another site. But if the iframe is displaying fresh and relevant content from an rss feed on another page as part of the same website, then things seem to act a little differently with regards to internet marketing in London.
This is a controversial issue with many seo’s agreeing that its best to use an include to a server side script like PHP etc in order to display the rss feed directly and I have to agree with that! But I cant ignor the fact that it is so much easier to use a html template and a php scritp to pull down an rss feed on to separate pages using the html template which is text rich. It also means a new page can be generated each day if required so that your site grows! (as long as the aggregation of the rss feed permits)
If the new feeds to relevant channels go up on a daily basis, its good practice to use seo friendly links so the dynamic links should be converted into a html page. Also, its good practice to add these pages to your site map and then resubmit to google as and when they are generated. A Iframe on your home page can then be used as a window to the content. Even though the seo benefits will not be seen by the home page, the other pages on your website will help the search engines give some brownie points for new relevant content!
